If the only tool in your toolbox is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. When it comes to healthcare, it’s really important to have a group of people who all have different tools because, depending on the patient and their health complaints, what they usually need is a couple of different tools to get the best outcome possible. Since the beginning of my career, it's been my passion to practice integrative care. When I worked at an integrated care center of a major medical hospital in the early 2000’s, it was deeply disappointing to me that I received no referrals. Looking back, I think many providers and patients just weren't ready for acupuncture then. Thankfully, things have changed. We're now in a position where we have the evidence to show that acupuncture can be a beneficial and efficient treatment option for hundreds of conditions. I'm very excited to be at HealthQuarters to have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse and experienced array of practitioners to take better care of our patients.

It’s a beautiful space and environment that helps to put patients in a more peaceful mindset. I’m excited about building everything from scratch and working collaboratively with providers across many different specialties.

Ever since my first day at HealthQuarters it's been an incredible experience. I love having both clinical and non-clinical counterparts available to refer to my patients—it really opens up new avenues for patients that they might not have been aware of before. If I want a patient to explore holistic options, or get care for other needs, they discuss their options within the HealthQuarters staff. It really helps to provide every patient with comprehensive, multidisciplinary care. I also admire the beautiful aesthetics of the office overall. The environment and design helps everyone to feel welcomed and relaxed from the moment they walk through the door.This is everything that I would look for in a medical office when I am the one being treated as well.

In the era of Covid, it feels especially meaningful to be able provide preventive care easily and efficiently, and to be able to work with other practitioners, draw expertise from many disciplines, and help make our patients’ experiences even better.

In the past, if a patient came to me with chronic low back issues and it was discovered they had an unmanaged blood sugar issue, I would send the patient to an outside medical doctor who would send them to a lab for blood work, and then they would be sent to an outside nutritionist. At HealthQuarters the referral process in house is seamless. I can have the patient see an MD, have blood tests run, and then see our in-house nutritionist all without running around town. And the most exciting part is that we can all communicate with one another so as to provide the best possible care for the patient.

What excites me the most about practicing within HealthQuarters is that I have the ability to focus on providing quality care to my patients. Because the space was designed with convenience and collaboration in mind, I can focus less on the logistics of running a dental practice and reroute more of my energy toward providing my patients with detailed and high quality dental care.
