MPM Nutrition is a nutrition private practice run by NYC registered dietitian Marissa Meshulam. Marissa coaches clients (both in person and virtually) towards their individual wellness goals by taking a mindful approach to the world of food and nutrition. Whether you are sick of hopping on and off fad diet, are struggling with chronic disease management, have a history of disordered eating, or are just looking to feel better - Marissa is here for you. MPM clients learn how to stop dieting and start living.
How can I see MPM Nutrition for a session?
- Before I meet with anyone, I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation where I can get to know you and we start to discuss how I can help you meet your goals. *This is no strings attached and meant as a way for us to both decide if we are right for each other!
- We then schedule an initial session where we delve into your lifestyle. We develop a completely individualized plan based on where you are at and where you would like to go.
- After the initial session, we schedule follow ups, where we adjust the plan based on what worked.
What is Marissa's food philosophy and approach to nutrition counseling?
My food philosophy is simple and inclusive. Instead of categorizing foods as “good” or “bad” and spending time talking about foods we shouldn’t eat, I work with my clients to help them eat more real, whole foods that fit their preferences.
I take an individualized approach to nutrition counseling, serving my clients by understanding their whole history to then guide them to their desired future. Trained in MB-EAT (mindfulness based eating awareness training), I encourage a mindful approach to food. I help people unlearn food rules engrained from years of dieting and instead relearn how to listen to their bodies. I believe the true key to wellness lies somewhere between the Whole Food’s produce aisle and the line for Ample Hill’s ice cream. After all, life is complicated, but food does not have to be.
